Somewhere around the place I've got an unfinished short story about Schrodinger's Dog; it was mostly moaning about all the attention the cat was getting. ~Terry Pratchett, alt.fan.pratchett Our dogs will love and admire the meanest of us, and feed our colossal vanity with their uncritical homage. ~Agnes Repplier Scratch a dog and you'll find a permanent job. ~Franklin P. Jones Anybody who doesn't know what soap tastes like never washed a dog. ~Franklin P. Jones Any member introducing a dog into the Society's premises shall be liable to a fine of one pound. Hills, sir, and the sundown, and a dog as large as myself that my father bought me. They are better than human beings, because they know but do not tell. ~Emily Dickinson To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring - it was peace. ~Milan Kundera Whoever said you can't buy happiness, forgot little puppies. ~G. Hill I used to look at Smokey and think: "If you were a little smarter you could tell me what you were thinking." And he'd look back at me like he was saying: "If you were a little smarter, I wouldn't have to." ~Fred Jungclaus Author unknown: The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue. If your dog is fat, you're not getting enough exercise. I got a dog for my husband...It was a fair swap. If you can look at a dog and not feel vicarious excitement and affection, you must be a cat. Sometimes you're the dog, sometimes you're the hydrant. Three things it is best to avoid: a strange dog, a flood, and a man who thinks he is wise.
